da mrbet: According to The Daily Mail, Aston Villa are tracking Bradley Dack as they look to add more firepower to their squad this summer.
What’s the word?
Villa have already brought in three forward players on a permanent basis since the end of last season, signing Jota whilst also welcoming Anwar El Ghazi back to the club and securing the services of Wesley.
Adding goals to a side that now lacks Tammy Abraham will be vital but they’re now targeting someone who could well make up for him returning to Chelsea.
The Sun reported earlier this month that Dean Smith’s team have an interest in Blackburn’s Dack but The Daily Mail claims that they’re now still tracking him amid a new update on the 25-year-old’s future.
It may not be easy to sign him, however, as Sheffield United, Brighton and West Brom are all monitoring him according to The Daily Mail’s report.
Life without Grealish?
Christian Purslow has already made it clear that the club have no desire to sell Jack Grealish this summer but the addition of another attacking midfielder could well hint that they’re preparing for life without him.
The fact of the matter is that it’s highly unlikely they’d fit into the same starting XI and as such, it would surely be a wasted investment unless he was a starter.
Scoring 15 times in the Championship last season, Dack clearly has a strong eye for goal whilst he’s also brilliant when it comes to the creative side of his game.
In 2018/19 he claimed seven assists, a tally that matches Grealish’s from the same campaign.
Villa’s star man meanwhile scored six times but played eight fewer games than Dack due to injury.
It doesn’t seem likely that Grealish will leave amid previous interest from Tottenham and Crystal Palace but it could be quite a cunning business plan to bring someone in ahead of time who could potentially replace him down the line.
At the age of 25, Dack still has his best years ahead of him but whether or not he would actually act as a replacement if he signs remains to be seen.
