da cassino: Liverpool fans took to Twitter immediately after Thursday night’s 2-1 loss to Manchester City to state their adamance that the ball crossed the line after a defensive mix-up between John Stones and Ederson.
After Sadio Mane struck the post midway through the first half, Stones attempted to clear the ball from the City goalmouth, only for the backtracking Ederson to get in the way as the ball sailed towards the back of the net.
The England international made a heroic last-ditch recovery to clear the ball off the line, with just 11 millimetres stopping Liverpool from taking the lead and perhaps from taking all three points.
Now, despite goal line technology being a completely reliable, dependable and foolproof system which works 100% of the time, some Reds fans still feel that the ball crossed the line, and that there is a conspiracy against them – a petition has even been made to contest the decision!
One of them even thinks that, because the shadow of the ball was over the line, it should’ve been a goal.
No, really. Take a look for yourself…
