Alan Hutton has officially announced that he is hanging up his boots and will be finishing his career as a professional football player.
Of course, this was huge news for all of his friends and former teammates, and they were quick to congratulate him and flood his social media accounts with various messages of support.

One such player was Rangers’ Allan McGregor, who did the same thing on

The 38-year-old goalie told Hutton that he should start working on his golf now that he’s retired from football, which was definitely a cheeky swipe at the 35-year-old defender’s skills.
We have seen Hutton – a former Rangers player himself – post some snaps from his golfing ventures on Instagram before, so it’s pretty safe to assume the two have been playing together from time to time.
With football now officially out of the way, however, the veteran defender will have all the time in the world for his hobbies.
