da premier bet: Jamie Carragher is a fan favourite following his 17-year service to Liverpool, but they might not enjoy hearing his latest comments.
da wazamba: The retired defender, who now works as a TV pundit, has significantly played down the Reds’ chances of winning the Premier League title after Tuesday night’s match against Chelsea.
Jurgen Klopp’s men had an opportunity to gain some ground on the Blues, who have been pulling away from the rest of the pack in recent weeks.
They were dealt a blow in the 25th minute when David Luiz scored from a free kick. Liverpool’s goalkeeper Simon Mignolet barely moved and was not even looking at the defender when he struck.

The Belgian later told BT Sport that he did not hear referee Mark Clattenburg’s whistle, but he could breathe a sigh of relief when Georginio Wijnaldum equalised with a header after the break.
Mignolet redeemed himself with 14 minutes on the clock by saving Diego Costa’s penalty, and even though the Merseyside outfit took home a point, they still sit 10 points adrift of the leaders.
Carragher believes that the focus for Klopp and his men is now on finishing in the top four, but it could prove to be a difficult task as just six points separate second from sixth.
The ex-England international told Sky Sports:
“It hasn’t been a good January, and it leaves it with very little chance really. I think possibly they had to beat Chelsea to give them, and the rest of the league, an outside chance.
“I think most people will see it as a good performance and a good lift, more for the top four than for the title. The title is maybe a distant dream if you like.”
