Gittens is currently playing with Dortmund at the Club World Cup, as Kehl has now opened up on Chelsea's interest in the 20-year-old. The Blues will likely return to negotiations with the Bundesliga side, but Kehl has maintained that Gittens knows that he has to continue performing for Die Schwarzgelben at the tournament in the United States.
WHAT KEHL SAID
Speaking to the media after Dortmund's draw with Fluminense, Kehl said: "We’ve had one or two conversations with Jamie in the last few days. He’s professional enough to know that he has to perform. That’s part of his nature.
"Jamie will still be very important for us in this tournament. We’ll see what happens after that. But I don’t have a negative opinion of him."
